Instructions for Heirs
If you are reading this, it means you have been entrusted to access a CroVault vault after the original owner's passing.
Please follow the steps below carefully to retrieve and secure the stored data.
DO NOT SHARE THE SEED PHRASE AND PASSWORD WITH ANYONE, EVEN IF THEY OFFER TO HELP YOU!
You must remain in control. Only enter the seed phrase and password when asked, without anyone looking!
1. What You Will Need
- The original wallet’s Seed Phrase (12 or 24 secret words).
- The Vault Password set by the original owner.
- Access to a compatible Web3 wallet (such as
Crypto.com Onchain wallet or
MetaMask).
- A small amount of CRO tokens in the wallet to pay transaction fees if necessary.
2. Step-by-Step Access Guide
- Recover the Wallet:
Use the provided Seed Phrase to restore the wallet in a Web3 application like
Crypto.com Onchain wallet or
MetaMask.
Important: Do this on a secure and trusted device.
- Connect to CroVault:
Visit crovault.com/vault and connect the recovered wallet.
If the wallet does not popup (on mobile), then open crovault.com/vault from the wallet's internal browser.
- Unlock the Vault:
Enter the Vault Password when prompted to unlock, sign the message in the wallet and decrypt the stored data.
- Review and Save Data:
Once unlocked, you can view credentials, notes, wallet addresses, PINs, bank accounts, insurance policies, identity documents, legal documents, assets, emergency contacts, and subscription records.
- Secure the Data:
Export or securely back up any critical information as needed. Remember: the vault will remain on the blockchain, but only you now control it.
3. Important Warnings
- Never share the Seed Phrase or Vault Password with anyone else unless absolutely necessary.
- Be cautious of phishing websites — always verify you are on
crovault.com
- Act responsibly — you have been trusted with sensitive and possibly legally significant data.
4. Need Help?
