Secure your digital life and legacy on the blockchain.

CroVault is a decentralized blockchain vault and encrypted legacy manager.
Store credentials, wallet addresses, notes, TOTP secrets, and seed phrases.
Also store PIN codes, bank accounts, credit cards, emergency contacts,
subscriptions, insurance policies, legal and identity documents, and assets.
Data is encrypted client-side using your password and wallet signature.
Your vaults are stored immutably on the Cronos blockchain — not on servers.
Use it for secure backup, digital inheritance, and legacy planning.

How CroVault Works

  • 1. Connect your crypto wallet
  • 2. Set a strong password (used only on your device)
  • 3. Create a vault and start storing private data
  • 4. Everything is encrypted before it touches the blockchain
  • 5. Only you (or those you choose) can decrypt it

Extended workflow

Even after you're gone, your data shouldn't be

Ensure your loved ones can access your critical data — even after you're gone. No lawyers. No paperwork. Just smart cryptography.

Frequently Asked Questions

How safe is my data in the vault?

Your vault data is encrypted client-side with AES-GCM using keys derived from your password and wallet. It’s extremely secure — even we can't access it.

How is it safe to store privacy data on a blockchain?

Data is encrypted before touching the blockchain. Even if someone finds your data, it’s unreadable without your password and wallet signature.

Do you store my data or password?

No. CroVault never stores your data or password. Everything is encrypted in your browser and saved directly in your blockchain vault.

Why do I need to sign a message?

Signing a message with your wallet creates a unique key for your session. It enhances security without storing anything sensitive.

What if I forget my password?

If you forget your password, we cannot recover your vault. This is by design: zero-access encryption.

How do I create a vault?

Connect your wallet and set a password. Then click “Create Vault” and confirm the transaction. A small fee is required.

Can I create multiple vaults?

No, not for the same wallet address at least.

Then why do I see multiple vault addresses after I connect my wallet?

You see multiple vault contract addresses, because each vault contract can only hold a maximum of 4 data types. This is due to a blockchain contract-size limit.

Can I access my vault from another device?

Yes — your CroVault vault is decentralized. With your wallet and password, you can access your data from any device, anywhere.

Can I edit or delete data later?

Yes. You can edit or delete saved credentials, notes, or wallet addresses.

What is TOTP?

TOTP stands for Time-Based One-Time Password. It's a widely used 2FA (two-factor authentication) method that generates a new 6-digit code every 30 seconds.

Services like Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, and Authy use TOTP to enhance login security. Each account is based on a secret key that can be entered manually or scanned via QR code.

CroVault lets you securely store this TOTP key (and related info like digits, interval, algorithm) in your vault — making it easy to back up and recover your 2FA accounts if your phone is lost or reset.

How can I store my Authenticator accounts?

You can store Authenticator secrets like TOTP keys. Save the Base32 key, algorithm, and interval manually during setup.

For most authenticators SHA1 is the algorithm and 30 seconds the interval.

Is the vault open-source?

Yes. The code is open for review. CroVault is a static dApp, fully transparent and verifiable.

What types of data can I store in CroVault?

Beyond passwords and wallet addresses, you can store PINs, bank accounts, credit cards, insurance policies, identity documents, legal documents, assets, emergency contacts, and recurring subscriptions.

Can I batch-save multiple entries at once?

Yes. CroVault lets you add multiple credentials, notes, wallets, and other entries before submitting them all together with a single "Save All" transaction. This reduces gas fees and improves efficiency.

What happens if I add pending items but close the page?

Pending items are stored temporarily in your browser’s memory. If you refresh or close the page before clicking "Save All," any unsaved data will be lost. Make sure to save before leaving.

Does CroVault show gas fee estimates before saving?

Yes. You can click the "Estimate Fees" button to calculate the approximate CRO gas cost before confirming a save transaction. This helps you plan and optimize your usage. However, the "Estimate Fees" function does not display the CroVault fee. The CroVault fee is added to each category that is saved and is shown in your wallet before you confirm the transaction(s).

Can I store encrypted financial and legal documents?

No. CroVault does not store the actual documents, but supports storing structured data for insurance policies, identity documents, legal agreements, asset records, and more. Each entry is encrypted client-side and secured on-chain.

How can I plan my legacy with CroVault?

CroVault allows you to store encrypted financial, legal, and personal data on the blockchain. You can share access to your vault with trusted parties like family or attorneys by securely sharing your password and wallet instructions.

Can my heirs access my CroVault vault?

If you provide your heirs with your vault password and wallet access instructions, they can securely access your encrypted data — even long after you're gone. No lawyers, no centralized servers, just blockchain-based access.

Heirs' instructions
How much does it cost to save data?

You pay a Cronos network fee and a small CroVault fee when saving. Deleting data cost a small Cronos network fee and reading data is always free.

Are there any subscription fees?

No, CroVault does not have subscription fees. You only pay per transaction when saving data.

Can fees change over time?

Yes, Cronos network fees can vary based on network congestion. CroVault fees may be adjusted according to market conditions, but changes are always transparent.

What blockchain is used?

CroVault uses the Cronos blockchain — an EVM-compatible, fast, low-cost layer-1 chain.

What is the difference between a vault and a wallet?

Your wallet holds crypto. Your vault securely stores passwords, notes, and secrets using blockchain smart contracts.

Why backup privacy data on the blockchain?

The blockchain is decentralized. No one controls the blockchain. Your data is immutable stored and always and everywhere accessible.

A strong password and your crypto wallet is all you need to get to your encrypted data.

What wallet is best to use with CroVault?

We recommend creating a brand-new wallet address dedicated solely to your CroVault vault. This wallet should not be used for storing cryptocurrency (except a small amount of CRO for transaction fees), NFTs, or interacting with other dApps.

Keeping your CroVault wallet isolated reduces security risks and ensures your vault remains private and tamper-proof.

Where should I store the seed phrase for my CroVault wallet?

The seed phrase of your CroVault wallet is the most critical backup you have. It protects access to all your vault contents.

We recommend storing your CroVault seed phrase in two geographically separated locations, hidden securely from others. For maximum protection, consider splitting your 12 or 24-word phrase into two parts per location (for example: first half in one safe, second half in another). Store them preferably on fireproof materials such as etched steel plates.

You can also create a trusted third backup plan with your heirs or trusted contacts, who would safely store your seed phrase and unlock password in secure, independent locations.

Can I split my CroVault wallet seed phrase safely?

Yes, you can split your CroVault wallet seed phrase into two separate parts to increase security. For example, store the first 6 or 12 words in one location, and the remaining words in another location.

This way, if one backup is ever compromised, an attacker still cannot reconstruct the full seed phrase. However, be cautious: you must maintain access to both parts yourself or ensure your heirs know how to recover both locations if needed.

What happens if I lose access to my CroVault wallet?

If you lose access to your CroVault wallet (for example, you lose your seed phrase or your wallet gets destroyed), you will permanently lose access to your encrypted vault data stored on the blockchain.

CroVault is fully decentralized — there are no servers, no customer support recovery, and no way for anyone (including CroVault developers) to retrieve your vault. This is why securely backing up your wallet seed phrase and unlock password is absolutely critical.

When I try to connect my wallet, nothing happens?

Try using your wallet’s in-app browser, switching browsers, clearing cache, or disabling extensions that interfere with wallet connections.

Why is signing or saving sometimes slow?

Delays are usually caused by network congestion or wallet popup timing. Just wait a few seconds.
